Pasture Renovation and Maintenance
Good pastures help you reduce your feed bill, improve the health of your animals, and reduces the amount of mud on your
farm.
Good pastures need to be developed, much like a good crop. Select good, highly palatable grasses that your
animals will utilize well and like. We find lime to be the single best thing you can do for your pastures in western
Washington. Powdered lime amends the soil and allows plants to fully utilize fertilizers. Soil testing is ideal,
but most farms in our area thrive on two tons of lime/acre per year.
Most landowners find it too expensive to own their own farm equipment for preparing the soil, seeding or harvesting.

We can perform the following services on your small farm:
Disc and Plowing – Eliminates compaction and evens out rough or overgrazed pastures in preps for seeding
Lime
and Fertilize – Feed pasture grasses, as needed, to maximize growth and root structure
Seed – We
offer Barenbrug “gourmet” grass seed, specially blended to maximize your animals' specific needs. It is
specifically formulated for the Pacific Northwest.
Overseed or No Till Drilling – “freshen” up
old pastures with a minimum amount of disruption
Spraying – Weed control. Good bye tansy and thistles!
